Rigg Design Prize

Our installation for the 2018 Rigg Design Prize presents the culmination of a myriad of design musings and conversations my sister and I (co-founders of multidisciplinary interior and landscape design studio Amber Road) have shared since we went into practice together.

Take it Outside explores the transitional space between indoors and outdoors, present in many cultures. The work speaks of our multiple and shared heritages, and also reads like a list of iconic Australian-ness: a musk stick pink screen, rammed earth, lycra, terry towelling, a pair of thongs, mozzie coils, the sound of cicadas…. a space that is pregnant with possibility: imagined stories, multiple layers, lived experiences, hopes and dreams.

We invite you to join us on our verandah/loggia/porch…whatever you want to call it, wonder about who lives there, imagine our stories, and make it your own..
